The competitive Mountain West conference is knotted up at the top with one of the contenders, UNLV, coming to Laramie tonight.

Holding down the league’s #5 spot in the Mountain West standings with the end of the regular season in sight, the Rebels are tied with Nevada. Ahead of them, are San Diego State, Boise State and Utah State all with ten wins.

Wyoming Head Coach Jeff Linder said last night that the Rebels may be the toughest of the conference contenders.

The Rebels beat CSU on Saturday 66-60. Also last week, UNLV whooped up on Air Force 72-43. They pack a punch.

The Running Rebels defeated Wyoming early in February 62-48. The Cowboys are listed as six-point underdogs tonight.

UNLV is led in scoring this season by one of the top freshmen in the nation in Dedan Thomas, Jr. He adds 12.8 points per game and leads the team with 5.6 assists per night.

The tip tonight is set for 7 p.m. Bigfoot 99 will be on the air at  6:30 with the pregame show.
