Cowboy basketball: Wyoming fell to San Diego State 72-63 in an unentertaining game on the West Coast Tuesday night.
The Cowboys got to within three points in the first half, but the Aztecs closed 10-2 to seal the game early.
Wyoming got down 16 points early when the score was 40-to-24. Khaden Bennett led the Cowboys in scoring with 14 points for double figures in back-to-back games. Damarion Dennis added 14 points for his third game in double-figures in the last four games.
The Aztecs were led by Reese Waters with 23 points on the night. He was 6-of-10 from the field and added nine free throws. Miles Byrd added 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds. The San Diego State broadcast team put it this way near the end of the game:
The Cowboys return to action on Saturday hosting Utah State in the Arena-Auditorium at 6 p.m. Saturday’s contest will be a “Gold Out,” as fans are encouraged to wear gold to the game.
