After leading through most of regulation, the Wyoming Cowgirls fell 63-60 in overtime Wednesday night to conference-leader UNLV.

The Cowgirls went cold in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, the free throw line was kind to UNLV. The Rebels hit 13-of-18 from the line on the night and outscored the Cowgirls 10-7 in the overtime period. Wyoming hit three of six free throws all night.

The Cowgirls had a chance to tie the game in OT, but the ball went wide.

Coming up short in the Wednesday night slugfest, Wyoming falls to 9-5 in conference play. The Cowgirls are knotted up in a three-way tie for second place. New Mexico and Boise State are also 9-5. At the top of the conference, UNLV is 13-1 with last night’s win over Wyoming.

Last night inside the Double A, Wyoming led the conference leader most of the night, but were unable to knock down shots in the end.

UW finished the night shooting 36.8 percent from the field, hitting 25-of-68. From beyond the three-point line, the Cowgirls shot 7-for-30, including the poker-tell of night–1-of-13 in the fourth quarter and overtime. The other number–the Lady Rebels made 10 more free throws on the night.

Wyoming will look to rebound at home Saturday as they host New Mexico at 2 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium.
