The Wyoming Cowboys played their annual spring game Saturday in Laramie under sunny blue skies inside War Memorial Stadium. The Gold Team won 21-17.
UW Head coach Jay Sawvel acknowledged that the team still has work to do through the summer but said he was “excited” by the positive results on display in front of fans this weekend.
Sawvel also took time to address the state of college football right now and how Wyoming withstood the outside attempts to raid the team for players.

The Gold Team tied the game on a touchdown pass from Gage Brook to Bricen Brantley following Brooklyn Cheek picking off a pass.
Seconds before the end of the half, the Gold Team went up 14-7 on a touchdown pass from Landon Sims to tight end Isaac Schoenfeld.
The Gold Team capped off the contest with a pass from Sims to Bean to take a 21-7 lead and the win.
The Gold Team was led by Sims with 144 yards passing with two touchdown passes.
Nico Hamilton rushed for 73 yards on 17 carries. Deion DeBlanc hauled in six catches for 48 yards. The defense was led by Evan Eller with nine tackles and one sack.
The Brown Team was led by Mason Drube with 175 passing yards. Kaden Anderson was 8-of-12 passing in the contest. Chris Durr Jr. added seven catches and Jaylen Sargent had 79 receiving yards. Gary Rutherford led the defense with a game-high 11 tackles along with Dash Bauman, as he also added a sack.
