In Sports, Sean Lewis has been named the 19th head coach in the history of the San Diego State football program.

At just 37-years old, Lewis still packs an extensive résumé. He was head coach at Kent State from 2018-22 before spending the 2023 campaign as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Colorado under head coach Deion Sanders.

Lewis also has made stops at Syracuse, Bowling Green and Eastern Illinois.

He will replace Brady Hoke, who stepped down as the Aztecs’ head coach after four seasons. Hoke guided the team to a 26-19 record during his tenure with two bowl appearances. The Aztecs hope Sean Lewis can reinvigorate the program after their down year.

San Diego State finished a subpar year by knocking off Fresno State this past Saturday.
