The Wyoming Cowboys are back in action tonight with the bookend to their west coast road trip in a matchup with Nevada.

Wyoming is coming off a coast-to-coast win over San Jose State on Saturday night.

The return of Kenny Foster was the big highlight of the night, but seniors Sam Griffin and Aquel Kot put up the big number – 21 and 20 points collectively. The 6-9 freshman Mason Walters added 18 more in the must-have road win.

After the win, head coach talked about the game that two freshmen Cowboys had. Caden Powell put in 28 minutes and went 3-of-3 from two point range. Cam Manayu put in 12 minutes with no points, but the freshman did have a block and a steal. Head Coach Jeff Linder talked about their efforts after the game, starting with Powell.

Wyoming comes into tonight’s matchup 6-6 in conference play. Nevada is 7-5. The Wolf Pack are led in scoring by Jarod Lucas at 17 points per game. He has made 57 three-pointers on the season shooting 39.3 percent from behind the arc.

The Wolf Pack rallied from seven down at the final media timeout Saturday against cross-state rival UNLV to pull out a 69-66 win. The Pack’s strength was their defense, outrebounding the Rebels at the glass 41-20.

Wyoming comes into tonight’s matchup with a chance to improve its Mountain West standing with a handful of games left in the season.

Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. in a late game. Bigfoot 99 will be on the air with the University of Wyoming broadcast crew at 8:30.
