Wyoming guard Brendan Wenzel overcame a scoring drought to help lead the Cowboys with 17 points—14 of them in the second half Saturday—as UW rallied to beat Fresno State with buzzer beater for a 68-67 win in the Arena Auditorium.

Guard Akel Kot helped the Cowboys overcome two empty possessions in the final minute with a buzzer beating shot as time ran out to win the game.

Keith Kelly had the call on Bigfoot 99. The Cowboys had trailed Fresno State by seven points at the half and were down by 12 as they mounted their third double-digit comeback of the season.

Head Coach Jeff Linder said he wished the Cowboys would play harder in the first half and make the wins easier.

At the 10:38 mark in the second half, the Cowboys were down by 12. Wearing #1, Wenzel led the Cowboys back with a season high 17-points and eight rebounds.

In the post-game interview Wenzel said the way he played Saturday is how he thinks he should play in every game.

With the win, the Pokes move to 9-8 overall and 2-2 in conference play with the Bulldogs falling to 7-9 and 0-3 in the MW.

The Cowboys have the week off. Wyoming will be back in action Saturday against Nevada in Laramie at 2 p.m.
