Hanna students are asking to decorate the windows of local businesses with school pride artwork. Homecoming celebrations begin next week for students of the H-E-M School. H-E-M Music Teacher Kit Felton said the school has arranged a week’s worth of activities for students to participate in.  Felton said on Wednesday the kids will dress up in the style of their favorite music genre and adorn the town in blue and orange, the H-E-M Miners’ colors.

Felton said using special markers, H-E-M students will show their school spirit on the windows of participating businesses. The H-E-M music teacher also said students will suspend colored banners from the Adams Street bridge.

Felton said H-E-M students have decorated the bridge in the past, but they have not done the window drawings before. Felton said several Hanna businesses have agreed to have the students decorate their windows.

Felton said due to logistical concerns, the students will not be decorating people’s homes this year. The H-E-M music teacher said residents may show their Miner’s pride on their own.

Felton said the homecoming activities won’t stop on Wednesday. The H-E-M music teacher said the school has something planned for every day of the week.

Felton said next Saturday’s homecoming dance is for students from grades nine through twelve and will go from 8:00 to 10:30 pm. The dress code is semi-formal.
