Rawlins Police are looking for witnesses to a shooting Thursday night. No injuries were reported.

On July 20th at 8:52 pm, Rawlins Police received a call of multiple gunshots. Police Chief Mike Ward said the shots were thought to have originated from the Forrest Ridge Apartments on the corner of Gallup Place and 16th Street.

Chief Ward said police are searching for the owner of a dark colored pickup truck. He said surveillance camera footage from the nearby Sinclair fuel station, on 16th and West Spruce Streets, appears to show a truck matching the witnesses’ descriptions.

Chief Ward said no one appears to have been injured during the shooting. He said it also appears that the shooter didn’t hit anything while firing the weapon. Chief Ward said officers recovered shell casings at the scene.

Chief Ward said he was unable to disclose the type and caliber of round used during the shooting.

Rawlins Police have released a 14-second clip of the Sinclair security camera footage showing a dark colored truck turning left off 16th Street and heading east down West Spruce Street. Chief Ward said he would like to speak to the owner of the truck in the video.

Rawlins Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the truck seen in the security footage. The clip can be found on the Rawlins Police Department Facebook page. Officers are asking anyone with information about the incident or the vehicle in the video to call Rawlins PD at (307) 328-4530.

A link to the video will be provided on this story when it is posted to the Bigfoot99 website later today.
