Saratoga’s Tuker Carricato took home the World Title in bareback riding at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Gillette over the weekend.

Carricato finished with 240 on 3 rides. In the first go-round, the Saratoga High School student scored 80, good enough for 2nd place. He followed up in the second go-round with a 76. Then, in the championship short go on Saturday night, Carricato let it all out with a score of 84, which was the best effort in the finals.

The Wyoming boys’ team finished the rodeo with a third place finish, totaling 3,565 points. Texas finished first with 7,825. As a world champion, Carricato was presented a $2,500 check and a pair of belt buckles.
