Today’s Headlines:

  • After special meetings held by both the county commissioners and the library board yesterday, three new members have assumed roles on the library board and Jacob Mickelsen remains the Executive Director of the Carbon County Library System.
  • Carbon County School District #1 will seek bids to landscape the site of the old Rawlins High School. The board is moving forward with the plan after a split vote.
  • The City of Rawlins Urban Systems Committee has approved the final report of the Higley Boulevard Corridor Study and will make its recommendation to the city council in February.
  • While a committee continues to study what designations would be appropriate for Wilderness Study Areas in the county, a former BLM employee says he has already analyzed the land. Vernon Lovejoy presented his research findings to the Carbon County Wyoming Public Lands Initiative Committee on Monday morning.
  • The Rawlins girls basketball team is 7 and 7 on the year, the Lady Outlaws have to shake things up this weekend.
