Governor Mark Gordon on Monday ordered both the U.S. and State of Wyoming flag be flown at half-staff immediately to honor those who lost their lives – including American citizens – in the attacks committed against Israel.

“Wyoming stands firmly by our ally Israel as she defends her people from the cowardly attacks of Hamas,” Governor Gordon said. “We vehemently condemn the horrendous actions of these terrorists.”

Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C., President Joe Biden has been silent on the matter. The White House has not issued a similar flag order.

According to news reports, more than 900 people were killed, including 11 confirmed Americans in the Hamas-directed terror attack on the Jewish state. Over 2,500 people were wounded.

By Governor Gordon’s order, The American and Wyoming flags should remain at half-staff in the state until sunset on Friday, October 13, 2023.
