The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees has identified two finalists for the university presidency and scheduled public appearances for those candidates beginning Monday.
The candidates are Kelly Crane, the Farm Credit Services of America Dean of UW’s College of Agriculture, Life Sciences and Natural Resources, and Brigadier General Shane Reeves, a Wyoming native who is Dean of the Academic Board at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York.
The Board of Trustees selected the finalists following two rounds of interviews. One of the question-and-answer sessions was conducted by a 17-member search committee that considered 103 applicants for the position.
Crane will appear on campus Monday and Reeves on Tuesday for question-and-answer sessions followed by a meet-and-greet.
During their visits to campus, the finalists also will meet with various UW constituent groups, among other activities.
The Board of Trustees will seek public input on the candidates before it selects the new president.
UW President Ed Seidel has granted university employees early release time on Monday and Tuesday to participate in the campus forums with the candidates. University offices will remain open to provide essential services.
