WYDOT Crews will close Wagonhound Rest Area on Monday, weather permitting.
The rest area is located on Interstate 80 in eastern Carbon County at mile marker 267.
Crews will update ADA, curb and gutter, adjust manholes, and drill shaft bases. Crews will also expand and repave the current parking lot. Plumbing upgrades will take place to the facility during the project.
Access to the Wicks/Beumee Wildlife Habitat Management Area will remain open.
The closure is anticipated to last a couple months or so through the summer.
Work is still progressing on I-80 between mile markers 258.75 to 267.19 in the westbound lanes. Motorists on Interstate 80 in Carbon County should expect possible delays due to single lane shifts through the construction zones and lowered speed limits. Steep grades along the road section may slow interstate traffic even further.
All WYDOT project scheduling is subject to change due to adverse weather or material availability.
