The switch is on. Democrats appear to be crossing over to the Republican Party in Wyoming ahead of the primary election.

New data shows that 3,000 people have registered Republican since early voting began on July 1st. Many of them are Democrats. Party registration for Dems is down by nearly the same number that Republican are up. The likely reason is that Dems are making the switch to salvage Liz Cheney’s seat in the U.S. House.

Most Republicans have abandoned Cheney because of her hardcore efforts to demonize Donald Trump, who won Wyoming’s 2020 presidential election by the largest margin of votes in the nation.

Polling indicates that even with Wyoming Democrats switching sides, Cheney remains a long shot to retain her seat. July polling put Harriett Hageman at least 20 points ahead of including crossover voting for Cheney.
