Kelly Norris has been named the new state forester. Governor Mark Gordon made the announcement on Friday. Norris had been serving as interim state forester since the retirement of Bill Crapser at the end of 2022.

Norris has been with the Wyoming Forestry Division since 2010. Before being promoted to Assistant State Forester in 2022, and Interim State Forester at the beginning of this year, Kelly served a forester for the U.S. Forest Service and as District Forester for Wyoming District 5.

Norris said, “It is an honor to serve as the State Forester.”
