In sports, the Wyoming Cowboy Football program announced 19 commitments on the first day of the 2025 regular signing period on Wednesday.  The group of 19 student-athletes features 15 transfers along with four high school players, as UW has added 40 total players to the roster.

Head coach Jay Sawvel said the signees provide “better balance among classes due to attrition.”

The early signing period for college football teams started on Wednesday, December 4th and will run through tomorrow, February 7th.

This year’s position breakdown sees 21 recruits on defense and 18 on offense and one on special teams. The defensive recruiting group is made up of seven defensive backs, four linebackers, and nine defensive linemen.  Offensively, UW has added five offensive linemen, five wide receivers, four running backs, two tight ends, and two quarterbacks.

Two of the recruits are from Wyoming, six from California, three from Colorado and nine from Texas, as well as two each from Nebraska, Illinois and Iowa.
