The Wyoming Cowboys lost at home to San Diego State Wednesday night 74 to 57.
It was a tough night for the Pokes inside the Arena Auditorium in Laramie. With the loss, the Cowboys fall to 11-6 overall, 2 and 4 in the Mountain West. The Aztecs remain undefeated in the Mountain West. San Diego State improves to 6-0 during their final season in the conference. The Aztecs have won their last 14 straight games against the Cowboys.
It came down to shooting. San Diego shot 50%. The Cowboys only managed 31 percent shooting, 17 of 55. The Pokes shot 10 of 34 from three-point range. Wyoming did pull down more offensive rebounds than the Aztecs in the 17-point loss.
The Cowboys cut the Aztecs lead to ten early in the second half, but that was as close as Wyoming would get.
Sundance Wicks talked about the loss on a night when the Cowboys went cold.
The Pokes return to action on Saturday with a trip to Fresno State to take on the Bulldogs inside the Save Mart Center. Action is set to start at 5 p.m. on the Mountain West Network.
