In the nightcap Saturday, the Cowboy offense came to life after the week-long layoff in a 98-93 win over Nevada.

Seniors Sam Griffin and Ackuel Kot exploded teamed up for 46 points, including 9 three-pointers in an explosive offensive performance.

Keith Kelly and Kevin McKinney had the call from inside the Arena Auditorium.

Griffin tied a season-high with 26 points and tied a season-high with seven assists. He was 8-of-13 from the field in the contest. Kot added 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting with a season-high five three-pointers. Brendan Wenzel added a season-high 19 points

The Cowboys out-boarded  the Wolfpack and matched them in the paint. Nevada tightened up defensively and went on a 7-0 run to cut the Wyoming lead to six-point game with 3:22 remaining.

The lead slimmed down to three points with 36 seconds on the clock. Wyoming used the line to put the game out of reach as time ticked away.

Head Coach Jeff Linder praised his squad for putting into two solid halves of basketball after several games where the Cowboys put in lackluster first halves of play.

The Cowboys return to action on Tuesday heading to San Diego State to take on the Aztecs. We’ll have the tip for you here on Bigfoot at 7 p.m. The pregame show goes at 6:30.
