The Wyoming Cowgirls used their bench to defeat Utah State 63-51 inside the Arena Auditorium.

The win marks the first back-to-back set of W’s in conference play this year for Wyoming. The bench scored 21 points on the night, the third highest scoring output by the backups this season.

Wyoming outscored the Aggies in the first period by seven points but Utah State fought back in the second frame. Wyoming dominated the third, holding their opponents to just three points and holding on for the win.

Wyoming dominated the backboards for the second straight game. Head Coach Heather Ezell said the emphasis was on “one and done.”

Henna Sandvik was Wyoming’ top shooter with 14 points. Malene Pedersen put up 10.

Up next, Utah State Week continues as the Cowgirls and Aggies will meet Saturday in Logan for a 1 p.m. contest.
