The first game of the Wyoming Cowboy football season is less than two weeks away. As opening-day kickoff moves closer, practices are shifting to game-like situations. On Friday, Coach Bohl deployed a Mountain West Conference officiating crew to tighten up discipline on the team. The officiating crew was also on the field during the second scrimmage of camp on Saturday.

Coach Bohl described the scrimmage as “live bullets.” Saturday’s scrimmage was something of a final test to grade positions and reach final decisions on contested positions.

Wyoming’s head coach said other Mountain West teams are using official officiating crews. Coach Bohl said it is part of a plan developed by conference commissioner Gloria Nevarez to elevate the conference to a new level.

Coach Bohl said Friday was “another good day” of practice. The offense worked on the passing game. Time was spent on goal-line offense and defense, as well as a few series practicing the team’s two-minute drill. Practices #16 and 17 are set for today and tomorrow.
