The Cowgirls needed a strong push late and a 24-point outing from Wyoming-native Allyson Fertig, the junior from Glendo, to put away Fresno State 62-51 at the War on Saturday afternoon.

Down the stretch in the fourth quarter, the defense put a cork in the Bulldogs offense, holding Fresno State to 3-of-13 shooting and forcing five turnovers.

Fertig put up her 12th 20-point night during her career at Wyoming. She also recorded her ninth double-double of the season as she led the way with 10 rebounds. Fertig ended the game 7-of-11 from the floor and set a career-high with 10 makes at the free-throw line.

The Cowgirls head into the regular season finale tomorrow at San Diego State with an 11-6 conference record. The Cowgirls enter the matchup tied for second place in the Mountain West with an 11-6 record. The Aztecs are in sixth place with a 9-8 conference record. The tip is set for 7 p.m. tomorrow night.
