The intensity level of UW Cowboy football camp in Laramie clicked up this week with the first game of the season set for three weeks from this Saturday.

Competition is fierce. Head Coach Craig Bohl seemed pleased with the level of competition he is seeing among the older players. Bohl said he likes the resolve he sees in the team. Senior players came back stronger and bigger after last year’s late regular-season letdown.

The veterans on the squad are feeling the pressure. The 2023 roster includes players who have been wearing the Brown-and-Gold for five and even six years. Six-year offensive tackle Frank Crum is one of them. This is Crum’s final shot. Quarterback Andrew Peasley, a graduate student, has two years, reaming, is also feeling the pressure. Coach Bohl said when teams have special years, success starts with the oldest and most experienced players turning in their best performances.

Coach Bohl said successful years always start with the oldest, most experienced players putting in their best years and setting an example for younger players.  The Wyoming head coach said he is seeing a motivated core of older players during the opening week of practice, which is a sign of good things to come.
