Wyoming quarterback Andrew Peasley doesn’t have to worry about losing any sleep with a newborn in his family.

Peasley joked with reporters this week in Las Vegas that his wife Maia lets him sleep while she feeds Andrew Peasley Junior. The newest member of the Peasley household came into the world two weeks ago.

With a new season six weeks away, the youngster’s dad told reporters that Maia lets him catch up on sleep as he gets ready for a showdown season as starting QB for the Cowboys.

The new daddy did not shy away from saying, this week, that he has to make big improvements for the Cowboys to reach a new level this year.

His health was an issue last year. He was limping after the road loss to BYU last year and missed the following week. A concussion at Colorado State kept him out of the critical matchup with Boise State.

Peasley told reporters, this week, that he has ditched the knee brace. His mobility and speed have improved. In Vegas, Peasley expressed confidence in the upcoming season.

The first game of the season has Texas Tech coming to Laramie on September 2. Under second-year head coach Joey McGuire, the Red Raiders are looking to be the league’s dark horse.

Peasley said fans are going to enjoy the contest.

Between now and then, it’s all work for the Cowboys as they get ready for the 10th season under head coach Craig Bohl. Peasley said he’s ready.

“I just want to win,” he said. “I want to let it rip.”
