The final week of Mountain West football is full of competitive races. Four teams are still in contention for spots in the MW Championship.

UNLV clinched at least a share of its first-ever conference regular-season championship with Saturday’s win over Air Force. The Rebels can claim the MW title outright with a win over San José State on Saturday.

If the contest goes the other way and the SJS Spartans win, they could earn a spot in the MW Championship and potentially host the championship game with UNLV. The final standings are up in the air pending the computer rankings that would be needed to sort out the three-way tie at the top.

The Rebels and Spartans are the hottest teams in the league.

Meanwhile, Air Force and Boise State square off on Friday in a championship elimination game. Both teams have paths to host, pending computer rankings.

The Wyoming Cowboys, coming off their seventh win of the season—all at home–will try to pick up their first “W” on the road this season when they play Saturday night at Nevada.

The Cowboys football team, coaches and families will enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner in Laramie on Thursday afternoon before heading out to Nevada on Friday.

At 2-9, the Wolf Pack is struggling this year. Their two wins came in conference play and they are riding a three game losing streak. The Cowboys have yet to win a conference game this season, and Coach Craig Bohl has Saturday night’s game circled as the one that breaks the losing streak.

Still the Wolf Pack has plenty of weapons. Bohl clicked through the roster Monday.

Meanwhile, Cowboy quarterback Andrew Peasley was named to the Manning Award Stars of the Week list on Monday after his career outing on Saturday in the 42-9 win over Hawai’i. It was the second time Peasley was named to the list this season and third time as quarterback of the Cowboys.

Wyoming and Nevada kick off Saturday night 7 p.m.
